Washington Photo Safari, already offering popular photo excursions in Europe and North America, now penetrates deep into South America to bring you 5 days of photographic adventure in colorful Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina.
This safari, led by Argentinean photographer and frequent Washington Photo Safari instructor Eddie Arrossi, will take you to the most photogenic parts of this magnificent European-style city, the plazas, the churches, the port, and the magnificent city skyline.
We will also give you an opportunity to photograph professional tango dancers in costume, and take you to the outlying pampas to photograph the famous gauchos at work on their ranches. All of this comes to you for less than $2,000, including airfare, hotel, transportation and safari instruction.
The safari itinerary designed by Mr. Arrossi includes the historic Plaza de Mayo, the 200-year old City Museum, the Puerto Madero and its views of the city at night, the French architecture of the Plaza Francia area, the famous Obelisk, the San Telmo historic neighborhood, a special photo shoot with professional tango dancers, a whole day out in the pampas photographing gauchos in San Antono de Areco, and shooting the Buenos Aires city views at night. The instruction will concentrate on architectural and people photography, and on daytime scenics and nighttime shooting with tripods.
The safari fee of $665 covers all instruction and workshop materials, local van transportation in Buenos Aires and outlying areas, and model fees. It does not cover hotel, meals, or round-trip airfare. Our recommended hotel for this safari is the Hotel Nogaro located downtown right next to Plaza de Mayo, which offers a daily double occupancy rate (4-day minimum) to Safari participants of only $70 US per person per night, including breakfast and transportation from and to the airport (single supplement $60/day, and we have been offered a group fare on United Airlines of only $770 round-trip from Washington-Dulles via the Tumi Travel Agency in Centreville, Virginia.
Offered, Thursday, December 1 through Monday December 5, 2005, $665/person for safari only, total safari/hotel/airfare cost is $1,955 for double occupancy for 4-night stay (single supplement $240). Accompanying spouses and friends not participating in the safari come at a charge of only $50/person for local transportation on safari plus $70/person/day in double room accommodations.
